Kristie Ibrahim

Kristie Ibrahim received a Bachelor of Music from Dalhousie University in 2000, and a Master of Music from McGill University in 2005.  She has performed with various chamber ensembles and orchestras in Canada, USA, New Zealand, Mexico, and France including Ensemble Prima, Stroma, Verona, Blue Engine Music, and the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra (NZSO), Auckland Philharmonia, Wellington Sinfonia, and Symphony Nova Scotia.  She appears on recordings with New Zealand artists Jeremy Fitzsimons, Gareth Farr, Mere Boynton and the NZSO Chamber Orchestra.

Ibrahim dedicates much of her career to percussion ensemble performance.  In New Zealand, she was a member of ensemble Strike, and duo Double Lateral with Jeremy Fitzsimons.  She  is a founding member of SIXTRUM, and co-founder of percussion duo Akrostick with Fabrice Marandola.

Ibrahim has a keen interest in arts education and interdisciplinary collaborations with other artists.  Her most recent collaboration is with Montreal’s Geordie Productions.
