Founded in 2007, Sixtrum's goal is to renew the genre developed in the second half of the 20th century by renowned ensembles such as Les Percussions de Strasbourg.

Sixtrum – the name inspired by the ancient Egytian instrument the "sistrum" - offers a wide variety of activities  ranging from traditional concerts to present traditional repertoire as well as new pieces, to larger events that will see collaborations between different artists, creators and researchers from various artistic disciplines.
