De la vitesse
Salle Claude-Champagne, University of Montreal
Exploration of time and sound spectrum!
From the reverberating resonances of two bass drums in Stèles by Gérard Grisey, to the virtuosic variations of Philippe Leroux in De la vitesse, culminating with the mastery of musical time in the Grisey’s Tempus ex Machina, in this program Sixtrum will explore the entire spectrum of sound and time. To complete the program, Sixtrum will perform a new commission by the ensemble from Canadian composer Wolf Edwards: Ico.
On November 26th from 3:00-4:00pm in Salle Claude Champagne, Sixtrum invites you to an open rehearsal with composer Philippe Leroux – new professor of composition in the Faculty of Music at the University of Montreal – for a workshop and discussion of his piece De La Vitesse.
Program:
Wolf Edwards: Ico (world premiere)
Gérard Grisey: Tempus ex Machina
Bruno Giner: Images de Peaux
Gérard Grisey: Stèles
Philippe Leroux: De la vitesse
