Sixtrum is looking for a full time stagiaire to coolaborate to its management and development efforts. The person hired will work in relation to different functions in the organization: management, finance, artistic planning and development. This internship is pending approval of a grant by the Conseil des arts de Montréal, under its "Support for first work experiences in arts-related positions" program.

Internsip period :

January 9 to July 6 2012.

The Sixtrum Percussion Ensemble has a new collaborator. During the upcoming year, Marie-Pier Leduc will be writing on Sixtrum’s blog,  As such, she will act as commentator of internal activities of the ensemble and as witness of the thoughts that accompany its actions.

The Jeune Chambre de commerce de Montréal (JCCM) and the Conseil des arts de Montréal (CAM) have announced on June 6 the attribution of the 2010-2011 Arrimages Prize to the Sixtrum Percussion Ensemble and the Nouveau Théâtre Expérimental.

The Sixtrum Percussion Ensemble, in residence at the University of Montreal, presents « Ligeti – father to son», two genarations, two visions of percussion. The concert will be held Wednesday April 13 at 8 pm at the salle Claude-Champagne at the University of Montreal.

The Sixtrum percussion Ensemble will conclude this month a series of concerts started last fall under the Conseil des arts de Montréal en tournée program.

Thus, Pléïades - the experience of contemporary percussion will be performed next Saturday March 19 at 8 PM at the Maison de la culture Ahuntsic, and Saturday March 26 at 8 PM at Théâtre Outremont in Montreal.

The members of the jury for the famous TROMP Percussion Competition has selected Sandra Josepeh, new Sixtrum member, as one of the 30 percussionists from all over the world out of 93 submissions..  Sandra will be the only canadian to take part of this important event taht will be help next November 13 to 30 in Eindhoven, Netherlands.

The Sixtrum Percussion Ensemble just ended a full week of recordings for four projects: 2 cds and two videos.

Starting last June 16 in Philip Hornsey's studio, Sixtum's members first started recording La Grande Tortue, a children's show coproduced with Les Jeunesses Musicales du Canada.  The CD, which will include a book, should come out sometime next fall.

Percussionist and Sixtrum member Joaõ Catalaõ will present, next June 8, his final doctoral recital at the Faculty of Music of University of Montreal. On the program, works by on Brazilian  and four Quebec composers, including three premieres.

Last Monday, November 7th, percussion ensemble Sixtrum presented the concert Histoires de gestes at the Society for Arts and Technologies (SAT). The concert was based on pieces which exploited in different ways, the concept of gesture in music.

Sixtrum recently returned from a three-day whirlwind tour to New Brunswick with La Grande Tortue.  La Grande Tortue is a show for young people ages 3 - 12, written and created by Sixtrum with director Michel G. Barrette, in co-production with Jeunesses Musicales du Canada.
