First Tour in France
Sixtrum’s first tour takes the ensemble to the French cities of Blanc-Mesnil, Montluçon, Aurillac, Clermont-Ferrand, Vichy and du Puy-en-Velay. On the program: Cage, Vivier, Varèse, Xenakis and a new work by Julien Grégoire. Note that the works by Vivier, Varèse and Grégoire will be played in collaboration with six professional percussionists from the region of Auvergne.

Concert with I Musici de Montréal
Sixtrum joins Montreal chamber orchestra I Musici in the program “Oxen Invade Paris!” Together the ensembles will perform an arrangement of Bizet’s Carmen Suite for string orchestra and percussion ensemble by Russian composer Shchedrin.

Concert with la Société de musique contemporaine du Québec in MNM Festival 2009

French Tour in Collaboration with la Société de musique contemporaine du Québec et le Quatuor Bozzini
The concert on February 26 is the first in a series of eight concerts to be presented by the SMCQ, Quatuor Bozzini and Sixtrum in Montpellier, Lyon and Paris at the invitation of Radio-France. Sixtrum will perform Third Construction by John Cage, an excerpt of Pléïades by Xenakis and a new piece by Czech composer Jana Vörösova. Sixtrum will also play as part of the SMCQ during the tour in works to be announced at a later date.

« Comme une pluie d'or...» - A Tribute to Pierre Béluse
Sixtrum has decided to pay tribute to Pierre Béluse – a pioneer of percussion and a prominent figure in the musical world in Quebec during the more than forty years of his career.
